Terms of use

Using this site means these apply. They are short because a long version nobody reads protects nobody.

What this is

BrokerExam is study material for the RIBO Level 1 entry-level insurance broker examination in Ontario: practice questions, flashcards, mock exams, and the published sources they are drawn from. It is study material and nothing else. It is not legal advice, it is not a course accredited by anybody, and it does not register, license, or examine anyone.

Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario sets and marks the examination. BrokerExam has no part in that and no relationship with them. Nothing here is endorsed by any regulator or exam provider, and nothing here can promise a pass.

What you get for the money

One payment of $59 CAD plus tax opens the full question bank, the full flashcard decks, and mock exams with no limit on how many you sit. There is no subscription, nothing renews, and there is nothing to cancel. Questions and cards written after you buy are included.

"Lifetime" means for as long as BrokerExam exists. That is the longest anyone can honestly promise, so it is what is promised. If the site were ever to close, there would be notice and an export, not a door shutting one morning.

The free half stays free whether or not you ever pay. Nothing that is free today is taken behind the paywall later.

Your account

An account is one person's. Sharing a sign-in, or copying the question bank out of the site to publish or sell it, is the one thing that ends an account here, and it ends it without a refund. Everything else is recoverable.

You can close your own account from the profile page, at any time, without asking anybody. What happens to your data when you do is on the privacy page.

Accuracy

Every question and every claim on this site traces to a published source: the Registered Insurance Brokers Act, its regulations, the by-laws, the Ontario Automobile Policy, the Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule, and RIBO's own published exam material. Each page carries the date its sources were last checked.

Law changes, and an exam blueprint changes. If something here is wrong, or has gone out of date, write to support@brokerexam.ca and it will be corrected. Studying from this site is not a substitute for reading the source when a real client's file depends on it.

Payment

Payments are taken by Paddle, which is the merchant of record: Paddle sells you the product, handles the tax, and issues the receipt. BrokerExam never sees or stores a card number. Refunds are on the refund page.

Changes, and the law that applies

These terms can change. A change that takes something away from a buyer is announced on the site before it applies, and a change that only adds is not. The date at the foot of this page is when it was last checked.

Ontario law applies, and the courts of Ontario are where a dispute would be heard.
